Most of you know that I have performed magic in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area for 3 decades but most people are surprised to hear that I also perform all over the upper midwest. My magic takes me all over Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
This past weekend after my show performing my first close up and stage magic show of 2020 in St. Cloud, Minnesota I immediately left and was on the road south to Des Moines, Iowa for another magic show. I was thankful that temperatures were warm for January and the roads were clear and dry. Every once in a while my wife also joins me on these trips throughout the midwest and she joined me on this one.
My show was at the Des Moines Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa for Denman Company. It was a great show and the country club was lovely and would be a great place for any weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, or corporate events.
Since my wife came with we decided to check out the Des Moines Art Center. We enjoyed our time there and we were surprised to see a Picasso, O’Keefe, Warhol, Matisse, and Hopper. There was also a very interesting display called Monument Valley that showcased our complicated relationship with the American West. If anyone is visiting Des Moines it is a great stop and in the summer there are also some sculptures and an adjacent rose garden. After that we visited our friends who have the cutest bulldogges. We got lots of cuddles. It was great.
My next trip for another magic show in the Upper Midwest will be in Brandon, South Dakota for a senior all night party for their graduates.
