The temps might feel like it but summer isn’t over yet. Here are some things to do in Minnesota to soak up the rest of summer.
- Attend Twin Cities Vegfest 2019! This is a annual event held every year and this year it is on September 15th. Each year the festival featuring vegan food grows bigger and better and 2019 should be the best yet. The event is at Harriet Island Regional Park in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Last year the event had over 100 vendors and over 9,000 people attended making it the largest attended vegan festival in the midwest. My favorite food trucks last year were Fro-Yo Soul and K Town Street Foods. Fro Yo Soul serves premium, organic vegan frozen yogurt with fresh fruit and sweet & salty toppings. Create your own inspired mouth-watering masterpiece– right on the outside of our mobile bus! K Town is a Korean fusion food truck specializing in mixing their foods with different ethics to bring you the best tasting foods. Something different something new and something good! They also have other exhibitors where and you can shop for clothes, jewelry. There is also music and other performances throughout the day.
2. Go camping. There are 75 state parks and recreation areas for you to enjoy right here in Minnesota! There are sites at the parks with or without electricity and you can even rent a cabin camper at some of the parks if putting up a tent isn’t your thing. You can also camp right here in the metro if you don’t want to go too far from home KOA has campgrounds in Jordan, Minnesota and Maple Grove, Minnesota.
3. Do some good. Pack at the Park and enjoy the pennant race with the Minnesota Twins and Feed my Starving Children. This event held at Target Field on September 25th and 26th. The Minnesota Twins are hosting Pack at the Park, a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) packing event, at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Two thousand volunteers have already signed up to hand- pack an expected half million meals, or enough to feed approximately 1,500 children for a year.
Whatever you decide to do to enjoy the rest of summer and be safe and have fun!
